In my copious spare time I knit. I’ve not yet knitted a jumper (sweater) but I have knitted several robots, a clock, a pencil case shaped like Yoda, tote bags, a young ladies bag for special things, and bags for elder young ladies special things...

I also sew because my grandmother and her sisters were raised that way. I can embroider and cross stitch, but mostly I sew clothes and quilt. I hate following instructions (including patterns) which does tend to make clothes and quilts more complicated.

Some of these hobbies also allow me to use sharp pointed objects in a variety of form factors in public places. I’ve knitted in bars, movie theatres and faculty meetings. I have yet to bring my sewing machine to meetings, but I have been tempted.
