Tom Pilsch is a Professor of the Practice of National Security in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, where he teaches a series of courses on Technology & Modern War and national and international security. He joined Georgia Tech in 1997 as the College of Computing's assistant dean for continuing education and special programs. From 2003 to 2011 Tom was the college's assistant dean for students and in 2011 became the college's assistant dean for operations leading a team responsible for integrating the college's operational support services for finance, human resources and technical and facilities support. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Tom served nearly 30 years on active duty with the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Brigadier General. His professional interests include the history of war and warfare, military technology and operations, national security decision processes, and strategic planning. |
