Recipes from Vasanthi's Kitchen


Here are some recipes from Vasanthi's kitchen.

Caveat: If the dishes turn out good, credit goes to Vasanthi. If they don't, blame it on the author of these pages...yours truly! :-)

Mango Shake : Healthy Anytime pick me up!

Moong Daal: This is a north Indian daal (soup) to be had with Naan or Chapathi.

Palak Tofu: This is a north Indian vegetable dish to be had with Naan or Chapathi.

Pau Bhaji: This is a north Indian meal which originated on the streets of Bombay as a poor man's quick meal.

Sambar: This is a south Indian thick "soup" typically mixed with rice and eaten.

South Indian Milagu Rasam : This is a south Indian soup that can be had as such, or mixed with rice and eaten.

South Indian Keerai: This is a south Indian side dish for eating with Sambar and rice, or with Rasam and rice.

Masala noodle: This is a north Indian meal in one (Vasanthi's own invention).

Vegetable Pasta : OK...this is not Indian...but it is a good meal...

Vegetable Pulav : (this is a version with no onion and no garlic)

Vegetable Kurma : (this is a version with no onion and no garlic)

Pongal : (a South Indian food)

Kathirikai Gothsu : (a South Indian side dish that goes with Pongal)

Puthina Thogayal (Mint Chutney) : (a South Indian side dish that goes with Rice, could also be used as a sandwich spread)
